Career Pathways Coordinator, Burlington High School, 2024/2025

 

Position:  Career Pathways Coordinator

 

Job Goal: Assist with the successful implementation of Burlington High School’s  school’s high quality Career Pathways activities under the direction of the Career Pathways Director.  The Career Pathways program offers Burlington High School students an opportunity for career exploration, career readiness, and work-related learning experiences.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement systems, procedures, and programs to support the career pathway program.  Meet regularly with the Career Pathways Director to outline and assess goals, vision, and deliverables, and collaborate with counseling staff, administrators, and teachers.
  • Become familiar with Burlington High School systems including FlexLearning, ASPEN, payroll processes, Field Trip processes, ParentSquare, Google Classroom, Scior, MEFA, YouScience, MyCAP (Career and Academic Planning), and IT policies and procedures.
  • Assist in implementing pathway advisory meetings, working closely with advisors and teaching faculty to schedule weekly meetings, manage meeting logistics (rooms and materials), and follow up with students who do not attend. 
  • Assist with logistics for career experiences such as senior capstone projects, industry certifications, pathway field trips and career speakers.
  • Assist in promoting career pathways programs and regional STEM career opportunities to students and parents.
  • Assist in the planning of a summer career prep program, coordinating logistics, promotion and student registration.
  • Develop best practices for partnership engagement by creating systems and procedures to assist the Director of Career Pathways in developing partnerships with industry, non-profit, and higher education.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with Burlington High School students, teachers, parents, administrators, and faculty.

Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Good organizational and communication skills
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a school environment.
  • Experience working with High School students.
  • Ability to use technology to track, manage, and promote programs.

  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Compensation:

Hour rate of $40 per hour, 35 hours per week

 

Start Date:

Immediately
