Full Time Early Childhood Float Teacher for Sprouts Program - 2024/2025
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This is an interactive position where the candidate is required to fill in as needed in early childhood classrooms and support the planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum experiences for young children aged 3 months to five years old.
This is a team teaching position. In addition to collaborating with multiple team member(s), the candidate will assist in maintaining a safe and healthy early childhood environment that supports all aspects of promoting developmentally appropriate growth and learning experiences for children enrolled in the program.
DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:
- Collaborate with teaching team members and actively engage with a group of young children on a daily basis
- Adhere to EEC teaching guidelines and health and safety regulations
- Assist in maintaining individual portfolios and document developmental progress and observations of each child as needed
- Assist in writing progress reports twice a year for each child as needed
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum to include the learning domains of language and literacy, cognitive, physical development, and social emotional development
- Lead large and small group activities and also provide one on one instruction and scaffolding as needed
- Communicate effectively with the parents sharing observations and developmental progress of children
- Demonstrate an understanding of child developmental milestones and timely identify any developmental concerns to director and team members
- Directly supervise children during all parts of the day, including outside time
- Attend staff meetings and required professional development trainings
- Implement strengths based behavior guidance and redirection strategies
- Demonstrate problem solving skills
- Encourage self expression through language, movement, art and imaginary play experiences
QUALIFICATIONS:
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism in relationships with children, colleagues, parents, and public school faculty
- Ability to sit on the floor and engage with children and be able to lift forty pounds
- Ability to document observations of children in writing and communicate professionally with colleagues and families
- Ability to meet curriculum deadlines
- Meet EEC qualifications and certification standards for early childhood teachers
WORK SCHEDULE, BENEFITS, AND COMPENSATION:
This is a 10-month, 40 hours/week, school year position between the hours of 7am-4pm. Benefits eligible, five paid time off days, and observed school holidays paid. The annual salary for this position starts at $38,000-$39,000. Opportunities for summer employment are available.
